A message from Nathan Nelson...

The Diamond Sports Hotshots is a select fastpitch softball organization entering it's fifth year of operations.  From the coaching staff, to the parents, to the players, we believe that creating strong relationships is a huge key to our success. We want our girls to work hard and play hard. We are trying to develop our girls into being leaders on and off the softball field. We want our girls to be disciplined, dedicated and to truly love the game.

We have a high standard for our girls any time they take the field, whether it is the first 10 minutes of practice or the final inning of the championship game, we want to carry ourselves in a manner that makes other teams look up to us. We expect hustle and maximum effort at all times. We believe hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard. We will lose a few games here and there, but it won’t be because anyone out-worked us or out-hustled us.

With everyone onboard fully committed, the sky is the limit for the Diamond Sports Hotshots.

Coach Mel Dumezich - VP/Director of Operations

Growing up with three older brothers wasn’t always easy, but it was definitely worth it.  Being able to compete in EVERYTHING I did at an early age helped me become the fierce competitor I am today!

I was blessed to have played four years of college softball for Texas A&M from 2009-2013.  Having played for Coach Evans was an opportunity of a lifetime.  I work to emulate many of the positive characteristics that Coach Evans displays on and off the field.

I believe in hark work, dedication, and perseverance.  I teach my girls to be hard-nosed, selfless, and relentless competitors.  I believe a team will take on the personality of their coach.  My coaching staff and I have a “refuse to lose” attitude.  We expect our girls to constantly push each other at practice and work harder than the competition.  As a former player and now coach, it is very important to have your players trust in you, and in return have confidence in your players.

Being able to give back and help girls achieve their dream of playing college softball is an honor.
